IMPORTANT Do not ignore this problem because SoftMaker Office does not function correctly with this misconfiguration.
SoftMaker Office has detected a problem on your Windows PC that needs to be resolved.
You have enabled the feature "Controlled folder access" in Windows, but you have not allowed the SoftMaker Office applications access through it. As a result, Windows prevents SoftMaker Office from saving documents and settings.
As SoftMaker Office cannot function if important folders are blocked, you should correct "Controlled folder access".
Which antivirus software do you use?

If you are unsure, follow the instructions for Windows Defender, as this is the default antivirus software in Windows.
Windows Defender
Simple solution: Disable “Controlled folder access”
- Enter the search term "ransomware" in the search field of the Windows Taskbar and click on the program found.
- The window Ransomware protection will open.
- Disable "Controlled folder access" and close the window again.
Advanced solution: Whitelist SoftMaker Office for “Controlled folder access”
Experienced users can also leave "Controlled folder access" enabled and add the individual SoftMaker Office applications to its whitelist. To do so, proceed as follows:
- Enter the search term "ransomware" in the search field of the Windows Taskbar and click on the program found.
- The window Ransomware protection will open.
- Make sure that "Controlled folder access" is enabled and click on Allow an app through Controlled folder access.
- Then click on "Add an allowed app". Select "Recently blocked apps" to allow recently blocked programs, or "Browse all apps" to allow other programs. In the latter case, a file dialog appears. In it, change to the folder Program Files > SoftMaker Office NX or Program Files (x86) > SoftMaker Office NX and add the following applications:
- TextMaker.exe
- PlanMaker.exe
- Presentations.exe
- BasicMaker.exe
- Then close the window again.
Norton Antivirus
Proceed as follows to add SoftMaker Office to the permitted programs:
- Open Norton Antivirus.
- Click on "Security" on the left.
- Click on "Advanced security".
- Click on "Computer > Ransomware protection".
- Add all SoftMaker Office applications under "App permissions" and set them to "Allowed".
Bitdefender
Proceed as follows to add SoftMaker Office to the permitted programs:
- Open Bitdefender.
- Click on "Protection" on the left.
- Now find "Ransomware remediation" and click on "Manage".
- Now add all SoftMaker Office programs to the permitted programs by clicking on "Add an exception".
- You can find the SoftMaker Office NX programs in Programs > SoftMaker Office NX or Programs (x86) > SoftMaker Office NX.
Avast Antivirus
Proceed as follows to add SoftMaker Office to the permitted programs:
- Open Avast Antivirus.
- Click on "Protection" on the left.
- Click on "Computer > Ransomware shield".
- Now click on "Block or allow app" and add all SoftMaker Office applications to the allowed programs.
AVG Antivirus
Proceed as follows to add SoftMaker Office to the permitted programs:
- Open AVG Antivirus.
- Click on "Computer".
- Choose "Ransomware protection > Open".
- Now click on "Block or allow apps" and add all SoftMaker Office applications to the allowed programs.
