In addition to Duden Korrektor, SoftMaker Office NX Universal now also offers you LanguageTool – a second professional grammar, style and comma checker integrated directly into TextMaker. Two engines, two sets of rules, one goal: leave no errors undiscovered.

Duden Korrektor is your trusted reference for German texts – that’s not going to change. But what about texts in other languages?
LanguageTool checks grammar and style in over 30 languages – not only in German, but also in English, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish and many more. Ideal if you:
- Want to have your German texts reviewed by a second pair of eyes
- Write business documents in English
- Write texts for international customers or partners
- Revise documents in foreign languages
The check goes far beyond spell checking: LanguageTool detects grammatical errors, stylistic weaknesses and incorrect comma usage.
How to use LanguageTool in TextMaker
LanguageTool is already integrated into your SoftMaker Office NX Universal. Activation is incredibly simple – just one step is enough:
- With the ribbon: Switch to the Review tab, click on Grammar check, and choose Use LanguageTool.
- With classic menus: Click Tools > Grammar check and choose Use LanguageTool.
That’s it! From now on, all grammar errors recognized by LanguageTool will be highlighted directly in the text with green wavy underlines. Right-click a highlighted word, and the context menu reveals error description. You can accept correction suggestions with a single click.
Tip: For LanguageTool to check in the right language, TextMaker must know the language of the text. You can see the currently set language in the status bar at the bottom edge of the window. To change it, select the desired text and click the language element in the status bar.
