Public beta – Download

The beta is free of charge. How you install it depends only on whether you are already using SoftMaker Office NX:

Already using SoftMaker Office NX?

In that case, the beta is essentially just a service pack: it updates your existing installation, usually finds your product key automatically and simply continues using your existing ChatGPT and DeepL quotas. Simply download and install:

Windows
Mac
Linux

The beta replaces the installed version. To switch back, reinstall the regular NX version from our website.

Would you like to continue using the previous NX version in parallel? Before installing the beta, copy the Office program folder (usually C:\Program Files\SoftMaker Office NX) to another location and launch your current Office version from there.

Using SoftMaker Office 2024 or older – or new to SoftMaker Office?

Then get your free beta product key from our shop: Order "BETA: SoftMaker Office NX" there and follow the installation instructions in the e-mail the shop sends you.

The beta installs in a separate folder and leaves existing installations of SoftMaker Office 2024, 2021, etc. completely untouched.

Good to know

  • The beta is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. Versions for iOS and Android will be released at a later date.
  • On Windows, the beta runs on Windows 11, 10, 8, and 7 – but only on the 64-bit versions of these operating systems.
  • No subscription, no fees: Downloading does not sign you up for a paid subscription. Your beta license is valid through July 31, 2026; after that, either a new beta will be released or the final version will be available.
  • Anyone who has a SoftMaker Office NX subscription will automatically receive the final version as a free update once the beta test is complete. Other customers can then purchase the finished software through our web shop.
