Hi,

Giving a spin to review 665 and some thought to buying a license in the near future (I HATE the F*** ribbon interface of Microsoft Office suite of apps!). However... Since SoftMaker Office 2010 editions, TextMaker can't distinguish between end of page and end of doc footnotes from "IMPORTED" .doc/.docx Word documents (Office 2007/2010). It just lists both types of ALL notes as end of doc notes.

For example:

i, ii, ii, iv, v... PAGE footnotes created by the translator while handling the translation of a book; and

1, 2, 3, 4, 5... translated END OF DOC book author notes from the same book created, in the translation process, with Office Word 2007/2010 are all listed or numbered with cardinals - both types of notes are sequentially combined in a single bunch of notes and placed at the end of the doc. So as it turns out, when I open a doc/docx previously created with Office Word, I am given:

ONLY End of doc notes as: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10... (i, ii, ii, iv, v and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 combined, placed, as said, at the end of doc).

TextMaker handles both footnotes and endnotes, but not both of them in the same document.

This is on the wishlist for the next release. Right now, you'd need to choose either footnotes or endnotes.

Hi,

So has the "release" come out and the requested feature implemented?

Will Softmaker Office (Textmaker docs at least) ever be FULLY compatible with Microsoft Office? I simply abhor Microsoft Office "modern" GUI! So I am quite willing to spend some bucks to migrate, on condition you eventually achieve a more advanced level of compatibility with its doc, docx formats.

This is on the wishlist for a future version (maybe TextMaker 2014) but not yet implemented.
