In the Windows version of SoftMaker Office 2010, Presentations allows for the inclusion of video clips, while in the Linux version, I find no such option. I would love to be able to include audio and video in slide shows that I am working on. Am I blind and missing something here? If not, are there any plans to include those features in the Linux port? Thanks for your time.

Hello,

the support of Videos is currently not available in Presentations for Linux (only in the Windows version). I raised the priority for the feature request in our ticket system.

Thanks for the response. I'm just so used to being able to add audio and video clips to presentations. When I read about the exporting feature, I was really excited until I discovered that the option exists only for the Windows side of things. Again, thanks for responding. I sincerely hope to see the features in question make it to the Linux side of things. :D

I tried out the 30 day trial and I was impressed but not being able to insert movies into my presentations was a deal breaker. For me personally I have to use media a lot in my presentations so this made SoftMaker pretty much useless for me. Shame, since I liked the package as a whole.

I agree with mctoot: I am very impressed in general with the 30-day trial, but the lack of video in presentations is a deal breaker.

So the question is: Is this feature going to be added in the 2012 Linux edition? If so, you'll have another customer here...

It's still on the wish list but not implemented yet. I raised the priority.
