I noticed that the developers of eMClient have a newer version of the program released than what is currently installed through SoftMaker. Will the SoftMaker update button/check also check eMClient updates as they are available or should we be doing that manually through eMClient? The SoftMaker updater reports that my TextMaker, etc. versions are current but it doesn't offer eMClient updates. (I guess my question makes sense!)

The update checker will not search for new eM Client updates. In eM Client you can check for updates via the help menu.

I have tried updating from eMClient/Help/Check for Updates, but it tells me no updates are available. Is the Softmaker eMClient restricted to version 3.5 or does the Softmaker license permit an upgrade to a newer version, in this case 4.0?

You will receive version 4.0 via the automatic updater as soon as we release this version for our customers but at the moment we are still testing and solving some issues. Thank you for your patience.

eM Client 4 is released, is there any reason not to download it from emclient.com and install it?

Please wait for our update. If you download and install from the eM client website you will have the free version, not the pro version you paid for.
