I have a file with about 300 events exported by Time & Chaos.

When I try to import this file in eM Client, I get the following error message:

"The VEVENT component contains unallowed nested component ('VEVENT')"

I'm not 100% sure whether there are really nested VEVENTs. (I can not find them when I search for it in a 'normal' text editor.)

Is this a known issue in eM Client or is there really something wrong with my ICS file?

I referred that problem to the developers of the eM Client and will inform you as soon as I have an answer.

It is hard for the developers to find exact cause without the ics file. The range of possible causes include wrong line folding in the ics file so as mistake in their parsing mechanism. Is it possible to provide us the ics file (or another file causing such error)? It would make the debugging much easier. Just send it to forum(at)softmaker.de. Thank you!

I've sent the .ICS file with appointments to the e-mail address written by you.

The file uses a legacy format (vCalendar) which is not supported. However, it has been modified to pass the import procedure.

It will be better to use the supported iCalendar format in the future. We will also try to improve backward compatibility.

Can you tell us which application was used to create the file?

I've made this ICS file with Time & Chaos of Chaos Software (as written in my first message).

http://www.chaossoftware.com/chaos.aspx

I've already exported all my contacts from Time & Chaos to eM Client.

Now I want to export my appointments from Time & Chaos to eM Client.

And, as written in another thread, I'm also trying to export my e-mail from Thunderbird to eM Client. (I still need to send you a few e-mails which didn't get imported well.)

Here is a fixed .ics file. Please try import this file to eM Client and inform us how it works. Next time please use iCalendar format whereas vCalendar format is not supported. If you need help with importing emails from Thunderbird, please send us the problematic messages in .eml format and we will try to solve your problem.

Edit: File was removed.

I've tried to import the changed file, but didn't succeed again.

There was again an error message saying that there was a nested VEVENT.

The file doesn't contain so many events/appointments, so it's not a problem if I can not import it.

I also pressed the 'cancel' button during the import process (after the error message was shown), but that didn't stop the importing process.

I think it's more important that this 'cancel' button will work.

It would also be nice if the import-dialog shows how many events it has imported during the import (it should be an increasing number).

Thank you for your feedback. The issue with cancel button is already fixed and will be available in next version, but we could not simulate your import problem. Please provide us the number of your version and send us the problematic file once again. Thank you.
