Hi,
I bought a new version of Softmaker 2010 with extended content.
Where can I enter the new registration number?

I have already another version of 2010.

The system does not show the registration dialog, or I do not find it.

Your E-Mail says that I have to enter it after updating.
It seems to keep the old number, but I cannot find it anywhere.

The dialog is:



"Sehr geehrter SoftMaker-Kunde,

herzlichen Dank dafür, dass Sie sich für SoftMaker Office für Windows entschieden haben. Im folgenden erhalten Sie Informationen zu Ihrer Software.


Wenn Sie SoftMaker Office auf CD-ROM bestellt haben, erhalten Sie diesen in den nächsten Tagen auf dem Postweg. Sie können aber auch bereits jetzt die Software herunterladen.


1. Download:

SoftMaker Office für Windows (ca. 132 MByte):

(Sollte nun ein Fenster erscheinen, in dem Sie gefragt werden, ob die Datei geöffnet oder gespeichert werden soll, wählen Sie bitte "Speichern".)



2. SoftMaker Office installieren

Zur Installation starten Sie nun die heruntergeladene Datei und beachten die Anweisungen auf dem Bildschirm.


3. SoftMaker Office freischalten

Um SoftMaker Office freizuschalten, starten Sie es und tippen im Startfenster folgende Angaben ein:

Name:

e-Mail:

Seriennummer:
xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx

WICHTIG: Geben Sie Name, E-Mail-Adresse und Seriennummer EXAKT in der obigen Schreibweise an, da die Seriennummer Ihren Namen und Ihre E-Mail-Adresse in codierter Form enthält.


Bitte heben Sie diese E-Mail auf, damit Sie die Seriennummer parat haben, wenn Sie die Software neu installieren wollen.

I suppose this is wrong.
It should be: "Wenn Sie bereits das Softmaker Office 2010 installiert haben, bleibt Ihre Seriennummer erhalten und Sie müssen sie nicht erneut eingeben."

I deleted the download link in your post. Please don't post download links to SoftMaker applications in public forums.

The e-mail refers to first-time installations. I will refer an suggestion for an additional note to our Admins.

Btw: Is it correct that you get e-mails from us in German language? We can set the default language for your customer number to English if you want.

I did not recognize this link and beg your pardon. I did not suppose this, I just wanted to give information what happened.
Thank you for your support. It was a big fault ... I removed the registration code and did not see this.

Another strange thing, after I installed it at the second computer it asked for the password.
I do not understand this.

So the text is

"Wenn Sie bereits das Softmaker Office 2010 installiert haben, bleibt Ihre Seriennummer eventuell erhalten und Sie müssen sie nicht erneut eingeben."

"When you already have installed a Softmaker Office 2010, it may be that the old registration number remains valid."

If you install SoftMaker Office on a PC for the first time, you have to enter the serial key in every case. SoftMaker Office stores your registration information in a file. If that file persists after a uninstallation and you install SoftMaker Office again on the same machine, SoftMaker Office does not ask again for the serial key.

Thank you. This makes it clear.
I was confused by the letter. I thought I have to enter the serial key in any case. Than I found that the new functions were already active.

I searched for half an hour to include the serial key after I installed the new version and did not recognize that it was already there. That is why I wrote here to help others to avoid this situation.

So thank you for the clarification.
