Hi

When using TextMaker > Insert Envelope there is a button called Paper Settings, which if clicked allows amongst others, the choosing of Envelope Orientation. To be absolutely clear Envelope Orientation means how and where you position the envelope in your printer so the address is printed correctly.

I have produced an envelope template which when opened brings up the database thus allowing selection of one or more recipients for printing. This has worked fine for some time, but yesterday for some reason the Envelope Orientation appears to have "slipped" and it is not now printing in the correct place. I want to be able to bring up the Paper Settings >Envelope Orientation dialogue box so that I can reset the position by clicking on one of the 6 arrow buttons. In my printer Epson SX400 there does not appear to be any setting or override. So how do I do it from within TextMaker please?

ps Using Insert Envelope>Paper Settings>Envelope Orientation works fine. This is not what I want. It is when I open an Envelope Template with all the settings saved that I want to get to the Envelope Orientation dialogue box.

Thanks

Terry

For template files you can change the orientation in File=>Page setup. Is that what you mean?

Hi Sven

"For template files you can change the orientation in File=>Page setup. Is that what you mean?"

No, that is not what I mean.

Best way to get you to see what I mean is this:

Go to INSERT>ENVELOPE, up pops a dialogue box. Click on PAPER SETTINGS, up pops another dialogue box called PAPER SETTINGS.

In the upper right hand part of this box are six push button boxes. Each of these show a different orientation or position that you can put the envelope in your printer.

Because my printer (EPSON SX400) has a vertical paper tray, I load my paper and envelopes vertically. The envelopes are 220 x 110, they are loaded 220 vertically to the extreme right of my paper tray (as opposed to extreme left or centre)

In this position the delivery address is printed correctly using INSERT>ENVELOPE, however if I use my template, it used to work fine but now it prints the address too high up. ie it has somehow defaulted to using the 2nd button from the right (Centrally presenting the envelope in the paper feed tray ie mid way between both sides of the tray.

Summary

1) Works fine with INSERT>ENVELOPE procedure

2) Does not now work with saved template

Terry,

please compare the settings for "Envelope type" and "Additional offset" in the paper settings dialog for the template and Insert=>Envelope function without loading the template. Are there any differences?

These settings look correct for "Envelope DL". I have the same settings if I select the 4th available orientation. How does the receipients position and margin look in your template? You can compare to my settings below:

Hi Sven

Please find attachment. My numbers are slightly different to yours, simply because some time ago I altered the position to suit UK envelope addressing.

As an aside, it does not matter which of the Envelope Orientation buttons you press (in Paper Settings dialogue box) the numbers are exactly the same.

What I am trying to establish is that I have a saved template which is completely different to the one brought up by clicking on Insert>Envelopes and whin I click on this template or Open New from it. It now prints the address in a position that is different because as I said before, it appears that the Envelope Orientation has moved. BUT, I cannot find a way of bringing back the Envelope Orientation box to edit the selection.

Currently the selection should be set 3rd button from the right, but it is printing as though it is set at 2nd from the right (in the Envelope Orientation box)

Hope this is clear

Terry

I asked the developers for help in that case and will inform you as soon as I have more information.
