Dear Sirs,

I would like to be able to open multiple instances of the program..
Is there a way to this?
Have only been able to open with Horizontal or Vertical Tile options under Windows..
Any suggestions?

Thank you

You cannot open multiple instances of TextMaker but you can create tabs for your files.

Although there are technical ways to force even SoftMaker apps to open multiple instances, this is not "data safe" for either users or the operating system. Multiple instances are a "great" way to eventually lose data, to use up a great deal of system memory, and lose a great deal of system performance.

Instead, use the multiple files tabs in SM products to do that. Works great.

Dear Sirs,

Thank you for the reply, however
I have the resources and use 6 monitors
so having multiple instances is for me
a really important asset..

Any chance there is a way to open multiple
instances?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Multiple tabs is just not a good solution for me.

Thank you
Roy

Thank you..

2nd suggestion..
when highlighting text, would be nice
to have a 1 step process vs having to
choose Format or Right click, then
Character, then Background color
then choose the color and ok...
If one button available for "highlighting"
that could have a default color setting
it would be a lot easier to do multiple
highlights...

Thank you again.. great product!

Drag the optional dropdown element "Background color" to one of your toolbars (Tools, Customize, Toolbars).

RE: Invoking "highlighting text" / "giving text a background"...
OK, already answered, but for those that might like a "how-to do it"...

Jossi earlier showed us the short step-by-step way:

Try Tools >> Customise >> Toolbars.... Then, choose "Format" in the left field (Group), scroll down in the right field to "Background colour", click on the instruction icon, and draw it (drag it with the mouse) into your toolbar.

Now you can select any portion of text and highlight it in any colour you want (even different ones) from the drop-down list.

By the way, the highlighting is preserved in PDF export, too, as well as the RTF file format or when you save your Textmaker efforts as RTF. It should also be preserved when you save in other graphic-capable file formats.

The above instructions actually make it sound harder than it is, but it's quite easy to invoke highlighting and with very few steps to have to take.
