Is it possible to have a facility where an image can be displayed when hovering your mouse over a particular cell?

I've produced a huge components parts list for some products and it would help our internal staff if they could see what each part looked like by hovering over their part numbers. I don't really have room to have pictures pasted into the spreadsheet which would make the rows or columns need to be extremely large.

Any ideas?

I've tried using hyperlinks, which works, but is a little clumsy.

Cheers,

Jez

It's ok, I've found the perfect solution. I didn't realise that the "insert comment" could display images, but it can, it's cool.

1. First make sure you're in the cell that you want to make a mouse-over image for, doesn't matter if the cell contains data or a formula.
2. Select "Insert", "Comment". A little comment box will appear.
3. While the comment box is still visible, select Object Mode and then right-click on the comment box.
4. Select "Properties".
5. Select the "Filling" tab.
6. From the drop-down "Fill Type", select "Picture"
7. Press "Open" and browse to a picture file of your choice.
8. I un-ticked the "Tile as texture" option and then clicked "OK".
9. Select "Edit" mode.

The result is fantastic and I never knew the spreadsheet could be so clever.

I'm using this technique to pop-up a little thumbnail of parts in a large parts list for my work, so much better than trying to fit a load of pasted images onto the sheet.

OK, so I've answered my own question, but I was trying different things for ages and was beginning to think it wasn't possible, hence my opening post. Hope other people find it a really handy feature to have in their armoury!

Regards.
