Hallo!
I am as yet not a user. I am just contemplating using.
I am a writer and not a programmer.
Today I have a manual method of marking my English texts. These tasks I would like to be automated on text files.
1. Count words in each sentence and add number in brackets following sentence. Insertion is after full stop with additional full stop after brackets.
2. Count words in strings and insert number following string in brackets.
3. Sentence text markup, using mouse-over, is as follows:
- Each markup is a small string in brackets and colored selected from a popup
- each markup is inserted prior to the marked up object.
The markup is in my current manual method a process of inserting tags at break-points.
Tags are each then replaced by the editor I use with ms-win end-of-line characters.
The markup method allows segmenting sentences into clauses as a first step.
In the second step the clauses are segmented into phrases.
Would it be possible to program these steps with BasicMaker scripts added to TextMaker?
Or is such functionality today in TextMaker?
Would I be likely to find some script examples as a way of learning "how to"?
Which forum group would be the best to pose my posts in?
Anyone using TextMaker and BasicMaker in this subject area, I would like to hear from.
If the answers are positive then I could become a new user.
Regards, patrickforkin.

As these are rather special wishes, they should be implemented as Basic scripts. We're currently working on script management and extending BasicMaker for such tasks.

Hallo!

Thank you for the responses.
I have prepared material which describes in some more detail the steps in the language translation process and indicates the form of scripts required.
If you are interested I can make this material available to the developers.
Regards. patrickforkin.

My original post and the responses

Hallo!

When is it likely that I could get a formal response to my original request for information?
Would it be worthwhile downloading and then trying to get started?
What would be the best book or other documentation source, from which I could learn?
Does the product documentation include simple scripts from which I could learn?
Look forward to hearing of any good suggestions?
Kind regards, patrickforkin.
