Thanks for your reply. The particular ISO/IEC 29500:2008 version of Office Open XML was not truly supported by MSO 2007. I was just wondering if SM2010 fully subscribes to the standards put forth by this Office Open XML format (which has nothing to do with Microsoft and is not developed by them).
I know docx formats are backwards compatible, and right now if you open a MSO Word 07 docx in MSO Word 2010, Word 2010 will show to be in 'compatibility mode' since Word07 did not support the 'new' features of Word 2010. However, when looking into those 'new features' of Word it basically seems to boil down to three main things: 1. Screenshot capability, 2. Background removal tool (both these are graphic capabilities), and 3. Protected Mode. Not that groundbreaking if you ask me, plus annoying that office 2007 shows to be in compatibility mode when opening 2010 documents and vice versa.
This would be another good case for switching to SoftMaker Office 2010!
