1. Open the attached document.
2. Add another text box on page 2
3. Now try to add another text box on page 2

TextMaker becomes really sluggish and not responsive. If you wait a moment or two, you will get control back. The same issue happens again if you add another text box or try to click somewhere in the document.

I can't reproduce this here (TM 2010 Rev. 576, Win XP Pro). I've added half a dozen text boxes everywhere on both pages without a slow-down.

Same for me. I've added 6 text boxes on page 2 and TextMaker does not slow down. Eric, did you use the latest rev. 576? Does the problem still occur after a reboot of you computer?

Hi Guys,

Sorry for not giving relevant info: rev 576 on W7Pro x64 (you would think I would know better after all these years)

After reading your guys posts, I did some more digging. I tracked the problem down to my tmw10tools.dat file. After I renamed the tmw10tools.dat to tmw10tools.old, I then tried to add more text boxes on page 2 and everything was fine. If I renamed tmw10tools.old back to tmw10tools.dat and then tried adding text boxes to page 2, my problems returned.

Thanks for your help,
-Eric

Hi Sven,

Here is my current tmw10tools.dat file.

From doing some more testing, the problem looks to be caused by the Objects Toolbar visibility mode set to All Modes. If visibility mode is set back to Object Mode, everything runs fine.

This problem has been solved now and won't occur any longer with the next Service Pack.
