I use TRACK CHANGES when I want to keep a record of, or show to clients, what changes I have made to a complex advice document. This is important.

When I also produce a version that eitehr I or my clients will be issuing to others, I need to hide the record of changes and provide a 'clean' copy of only the finished document, and to make it difficult for anyone to tamper with the document. This is also important. I therefore switch off SHOW CHANGES and export the document to a PDF file.

What I am finding is that, even with SHOW CHANGES switched OFF, the export to PDF function still reveals all the changes in the saved PDF.

This looks as if it must be one or more of:

- an important bug that need fixing;
- something insufficiently intuitive for me to be able to work out how to do it;
- an important lack of functionality that needs improving;
- stupidity by me.

Softmaker advice needed!

When you exported as pdf, was "Include TextMaker document" selected (in the "Preferences" tab)? If so, what if you deselect it?

I think most probably it was not but I'm not certain. The reason I think this is that I remember wondering what the "Include TextMaker document" option does exactly, and noticing it unselected. I'll check when I return to my office in the morning and reply again quite early.

[Next morning]
As I thought, "Include TextMaker document" was not ticked. The same malfunction repeated when I tried it again this morning. I then tried it with "Include TextMaker document" ticked. Same result.

This is the same document about which I have posted separately on this forum under the topic name, "Error msg <Not enough memory>". I cannot upload this document to the forum because it contains confidential information but if developers would like a private copy, please send a short email request, promising not to disclose it to anyone, to John@Wasilewski.co.uk ,
