Hi :)
I have Microsoft Office 2003 installed but I'm looking for a word processor easier to work with, and I heard such great recommendations about TextMaker.
Can I install Ashampoo Office 2008 without ruining my Office 2003 installation? Any known conflicts?
Thank you

I'm not aware of any conflicts. One of the nice things about this package is that it is so compact that is like using Notepad for speed with the toys (mostly) available in Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.

You will notice some differences in where some things are located, but otherwise, you certainly shouldn't encounter any conflicts per se.

I have MS Office 2003, SoftMaker Office 2006 and SoftMaker Office 2008 all installed on my computer. No conflicts whatsoever.

Okay, I purchased and installed the Office 2008 package (love it!!!) and it didn't harm my MS Word 2003 installation.
Thanks everyone! :D

For the record if you have MS Office 2003 installed and you install MS Office 2007 you will find that the object model of the one program is incompatible with that of the other. So if you make pretty graph in Excel 2007 you won't be able to paste it into Word 2007 until you uninstall office 2003. So in this respect (and in others) Softmaker is superior.

Yes, you cannot run Office 2003 and Office 2007 side by side without problems. Rather annoying.
