I created a file on TextMaker 2008 for PPC and tried to save it. Initially I recieved a pop up window advising me there was insufficient memory, which is not possible as I was saving it to my 40GB CF microdrive (appr. 37GB remain). My second attempt at saving the file appeared to be successful, however immediately following the save, Textmaker closed. When I reopened TextMaker and attempted to open the file I recieved the "Unable to open file" Error message. I tried copying it to my PC and opening it in both MS Word (loaded converter, still would not open) and TextMaker recieved same "Unable to open file" message). As this is an important document your assistance recovering this file would be greatly appreciated. As it contains a client's confidential information I can't attach it to this post but would be willing to email it, assuming confidentiality could be maintained.
Thanks in advance,
Ed

Hello,

unfortunately the file you send us contains nothing we can reconstruct. Is there another (original) file, maybe in .tmd format you could send us? So we could reproduce the bug.

I made a small .tmd file. I then saved it as a .doc Word 2003. I opened it successfully on this same Vista machine with Word 2007. But after making some changes I am unable to save it i.e "The save failed due to out of memory or disk space". What's up?

Thank you,

I´ve informed the developers about this issue and will inform you as soon as we have more information.

Similar problem.

I was drafting an important lecture I had to deliver the next day. I was using TextMaker 2008 on my Asus eeePC. I typically use MS Word 2003 on my desktop, but I have been trying to use TextMaker on my eeePC because it doesn't have enough memory to load office onto it. So I read from .doc files and save as .doc.

I had gotten up to 7 pages of the document typed (I constantly saved along the way) when TextMaker informed me that either I had run out of memory (and I had 6 gigabytes left on the flashdrive) or the file was corrupted and the copy I was working on could not be saved.

PANIC!

I could not get the TextMaker to save the document.

Fortunately, whatever had been saved previously was actually NOT corrupted. I got it off the flashdrive onto my desktop, and MS Word opened the file (missing the last changes I could not save) so I could continue working on it.

This is the second time TextMaker has messed up. The last time, I just got the message that there was a problem with TextMaker and Windows had to shut down the application. That time I did lose my document. Fortunately, it wasn't as critical as this last one.

Hello,

can you please send us the file (or even another file which caused the same problem) to forum(at)softmaker.de and refer to that thread, so that we can reproduce that issue?

Thank you!
