Hi,

I'm using SM Office 2008 on XP SP2. I see under options how to move the Templates folder to another location but i'd like to move the *all* of the folders that SM office installs to "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\SoftMaker" to a more convenient location. But I can't figure out where SM stores the path to these folders. There isn't anything under HLCU\Software of HKLM\Software in the registry and the ini files in the Setting folder don't have the path either.

Any hints?

Unfortunately that didn't do it.

I interpreted your answer to mean that if I moved the location of the of the Templates folder the rest of the folder structure would also be moved. But that's not the case.

I copied everything that was under "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents\SoftMaker" to "F:\Office\SM_Office\inst\mydoc" and then changed the path to the Templates folder in options to "F:\Office\SM_Office\inst\mydoc\Templates". Then I moved the entire SoftMaker folder structure out of "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents" to another location. Then I restarted Planmaker and it couldn't find it's pmwconfig.ini at the former location so it wrote a new file and folder structure under ""C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents" again.

So how can I make PM and TM look for everything that used to be at "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\My Documents" under "F:\Office\SM_Office\inst\mydoc" ?

Hello,

Tools/Options/Files/Template folder is only that path for the templates, not for the whole SoftMaker folder.

If you create a new, empty file "portable.txt" (without ") in the program folder of SoftMaker Office (where you can find the textmaker.exe) it will create the SoftMaker folder inside the program folder and use this new folder because SoftMaker Office now "thinks" it would be a portable version.
