Is it possible to add a comment to a text frame or text in a frame?
I am trying to draw up a family tree and the possibility of addin a comment to a frame or the text in it would be really useful.

How so do you mean? Do you want the comment to be visible or invisible. For example, you would see it if you check the frame propeties?

I was looking to be able to add the comment the same as for plain text in a document except that the text would be in a text frame. Being able to turn the viewing of the comment on/off as well would be nice.

I have two thoughts on this... Have you tried using "Comments." For example, you can write text and then add a comment that can be turned on or off depending on your needs. Alternatively, you could use text frames and in the object name put a short comment and that would become the name of the object as well.

Thanks for the replies Jim, yes I have tried using text comments and they work fine with just plain text. When you try and use them in a text frame though the comment options on the toolbar are greyed out. I tried copying and pasting text that already had a comment attached into a frame but the comment info is lost.

currently it is not possible to add comments for text frames or just the text inside text frames. There is already a feature request to implement that but it is not easy to achieve.

Alternatively you could maybe use tables. You can add a comment to every table row.

Adding a comment would be nice, even if it is just to the frame itself. As it has already been suggested I'll keep my fingers crossed.
In the meantime I have got round the problem by setting up a bookmark for each frame.
