Hi

I've downloaded the trial version of the SoftMaker Office 2012 suite. All programmes launched successfully except for eM Client. Upon double clicking on the eM Client icon in the task bar, an error message shows. It asks for details to be sent to SoftMaker, but after filling out the form, it won't send.

Restarting the system (Windows XP, SP-3) doesn't solve the issue. I've emailed the "bug report" address a week ago with a copy of the error (attached) and the circumstances, but have not received a reply. Thanks. Dan

I referred this problem to the developers and will inform you as soon as I have more information.

This usually happens after installing .Net 3.5 patches or repair .Net 3.5. In order to resolve the problem please follow these steps:

1) Download the attached script FixServiceModel30Reg.txt and save it to the root of c: drive.

2) Rename it to FixServiceModel30Reg.js.

3) Open the Command Prompt window and run the following command: Cscript.exe c:\FixServiceModel30Reg.js

Thanks for the reply Sven. I've downloaded the file to my system directory (i: in my case) and renamed it with the js extension. The SoftMaker Office suite is also installed on this directory. I've entered the command as above, substituting "c" for "i". I get an input error saying the script file can't be found. Any suggestions? Thanks. Dan

I asked the developers for a workaround.

Could you please do the whole process again?

1. Delete the existing file
2. Download and rename the FixServiceModel30Reg.txt
3. Run the following command: Cscript.exe i:\FixServiceModel30Reg.js

If you won't be successful please reinstall .net framework and inform me of the result.

Worked this time. Running script problem was my mistake. I'd inadvertently turned on "hide file extensions for known file types" in Explorer and when I renamed the file .js, it still retained the .txt extension at the end. All good now and eM Client is running. Thanks very much for your help. Dan
