Hello,

I'm trying the SoftMaker Office 2010 for Windows program (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits), and not reproduce the pps files automatically when you click on them, although I have well done the Association of files with this application. You can help me?. It is important that this can be done with this program.

Best regards,

To associate a file type like .pps permanently with an specific program like SoftMaker Presentations, please do the following steps under Windows XP (these steps are almost identically under Windows Vista and Windows 7):

1. Right click on the desired file type and choose "open with" and then "Choose Program..."
2. Select the desired program/application. In case you cannot find the program in that list, click on "Browse" and navigate to the
installation folder, for example C:\Program Files\SoftMaker Office 2010) and select the desired .exe file, e.g. Presentations.exe or Excel.exe
3. Enable "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and click "OK".

Hello,

This I have already, I well associated files pps with the application of pesentaciones of softmaker office 2010, but if I click a file pps opens the application - as if it were a ppt - and I have to start the presentation manually.

What I want is that when you press a pps file to start automatically the presentation... :?:

I also find two other problems with softmaker office 2010:

1.- I cannot change default font and size, I always get by default the type of font and size next to install the program.

2.- I can not define carpetar where search automatically my documents in any of the applications of softmaker office 2010.

Does all this solution?. I would like to dispense with free Office (I have it running in parallel), and stay only with your program. :?:

Greetings and thanks,

Are the .pps files really associated with Presentations 2010 or does another program open (you can see that if you invoke Help=>About)? Are you open the .pps files from your hard disc (file explorer) or from an e-mail?

Your questions:

1. Just create a template and save it in.prv file format.
2. Sorry, I don't understand that question. What do you mean with "carpetar "?

Hello

I have perfectly associated extension "pps" to any "pps" file with the application of SoftMaker Office 2010 presentations. If I click on any file "pps" opens the presentations of SoftMaker Office 2010 application as if it were a file "ppt", does not automatically work presentation. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits.

Regarding the other two points:

1.- Do not be as it creates the file you tells me... can help me?.
2.- Sorry, I was wrong not is "carpetar" but "folder" ("directory").

I am sorry, I'm Spanish and I use the google translator. I do not know English, that is why the help of the program gives me problems, because it comes in English, not in Spanish as the whole programme SoftMaker Office 2010.

I hope your help. Thank you,

This may be to late, but something you also might consider is the to check the box that says, "always use the selected program to use this type of file"
