Should I type in the data in PlanMaker first?
I only want to do a very basic chart, but I have no idea where to begin.
Step by step instructions would be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

It's been a while since I worked with charts so I'll have to check to see if there is a better way... and I'm sure there must be but here is one way:
1. Arrange the data as you need it in PM;
2. Create the chart by clicking on tools, new chart frame. Before you pick the chart type select the data range you want included, then pick the chart type. Click OK
3. Select the chart by clicking near the outside border. Right click and then save as image
4. Pick the details about the image you want. The default is png.
5. On the slide you want the chart to appear, double click on the image icon. If you don't see this, you might need to change the slide type/format. A dialogue box will appear.
6. Locate the image, select and click OK. Resize as necessary.

Sven,
This seems too long... wasn't there an easier way?

In Presentations, Object > New OLE Object Frame, select "PlanMaker Chart".
