but I've been adamant about staying on Windows Mobile 6.5.

Question I have is, has SoftMaker ported a version to Windows Phone, aka 7.x?

Thanks

No, there is no version available for Windows Phone 7. If you followed the reporting on Microsoft, you will have noticed that Windows Phone 7 is pretty much dead, with Microsoft having moved on to (semi-incompatible) Windows Phone 8. If we ever do something in this area, it will be only for Windows Phone 8.

Didn't MS prevent the use of C++ with WP7 and alienate that development community in the process? And with Windows 8 they will again support C++?

Not meaning to start a flame war here, I'm just trying to confirm what I think happened.

Your recollection is correct.

I didn't make the move. I have an HD2 running WM6.5 and another one just like it in reserve. I've got a fair sum tied up in software for WM, and the fact that PlanMaker and TextMaker have no peers on any handheld was a strong incentive for me to lag behind. If you folks end up porting your Office suite to either Android or WP8 then I'll likely make a move then.

I've been trying to resist the urge to buy new devices for quite awhile for those reasons, but it's hard. I have owned a fair amount of PDAs, handhelds, phones and subnotebooks since 1995 and I get bored with the "old" and excited by the new ones. I did recently buy a Kindle Fire and haven't yet found the OS to be business friendly, let alone centric. I really don't understand the popularity of Android at this point, though MS did shoot themselves in the foot and in so doing opened the door wide open for Google to barge through.

Keep up the good work guys and gals.
