I earn my living transcribing, which means i have to have software which is as flawless as possible. I've use textmaker 06 on my pocket pc, and toyed with various trial versions, but now that i am using ubuntu, I find Textmaker to be the only viable software for debian. PROBLEM: Should my system crash, Textmaker is "UNABLE TO OPEN FILE" on whatever i am working on, INCLUDING the .BAK (backup) file! this means everything i've worked on is gone! I do email my work to myself as a routine backup, but even losing ten minutes of work is both annoying and money costing.
I am using Ubuntu 10.10, and Softmaker office Linux trail I downloaded last week. I am waiting for the full version to go on sale, but frankly, this bug is a show-stopper.
