Yesterday I received a special offer for Office 2008 from Ashampoo. I took advantage of that offer and purchased SM2008 plus 2 years of premium support, thinking that 2008 was the latest version and, with the support, I would receive a free upgrade if a new version came out during that 2 year term. Now I find out that SM2010 is already out and the cost of SM2008 plus that of upgrading is almost equal to the full cost of 2010.

One question, before I pursue an upgrade any further, does the 2010 interface mimic that of the newer MS Office products (2007 and up) or does it still use the menu interface of the Softmaker 2008 version? I do not like the new (improved???) interface of the 2007 (and up) versions of MS Office. No matter how much I use it, at work, I cannot get used to their new menu format and it slows me down considerably.

Sorry about the rant. I do not feel cheated by Ashampoo, just misled.

SM Office 2010 uses the same interface, no ribbons.

I will get in touch with Ashampoo why they are still selling Ashampoo Office 2008; I don't think that's a good idea.

I have just sent you a free courtesy copy of SoftMaker Office 2010, so that you are current again.

Thank you so very much. I really didn't expect a free copy, but do greatly appreciate it.

I never doubted Softmaker being a first class company, now I am truly a believer.

Thanks again,

John
