I have just downloaded and installed SoftMaker Office 2010 after uninstalling Ashampoo Office 2008. There appears to be no program named SoftMaker Office and I cannot register as there is nowhere to do so.

Did I make a mistake in uninstalling Ashampoo Office?

I have downloaded twice just in case there was an error, and installed twice with the same result. Am I doing something wrong or is it the program? :(

If you run the setup program, it will create a group "SoftMaker Office 2010" in your Start menu. Depending on your version of Windows, you might have to first click on "All Programs" in the Start menu to really see it.

I am not getting very far. I uninstalled Softmaker Office and re-installed Ashampoo Office 2010. I then installed Softmaker Office: the first thing it did was to delete Ashampoo Office. The program runs, but there is no "setup" program either in the start menu or the Softmaker Folder. There is still no way of inserting my name or the serial number. As the program does not ask for this information perhaps you will tell me if it is necessary and if it is how I input it. ](*,)

I am running Windows 7.

Yes, Softmaker office is compatible with Windows 7.
I'm using it without a hitch.

@bernieb: When you install Softmaker Office, the installer should ask you for your Name, e-mail address and key.

After installation, there is no setup program or program named "Suftmaker Office", just a folder of the same name in your start menu, where you can find TextMaker, PlanMaker and Presentations.

This is what the documentation says. What I haven't yet been told is what to do if the installer fails to ask for this information.

It's not the installer asking for the serial number, it's the applications when you start them for the first time.

I have run all four programs. I'm sure I would have noticed if one of them had asked for name, email address and key.

Go to Help/About and tell me if it shows "trial version". Then the answer would be that you are running a trial version.

Gosh. I guess it's been to long that I installed Softmaker Office.
