New to SoftMaker Office.
I see that development work is being done for a Windows version for 2010 but what about Linux? Or will that follow later?
Thanks

Hi davesurrey,

I would like to see SMO 2010 running on Puppy Linux.
With the speed and portability of Puppy, and a good office program like SMO, it would be useful to Puppy users (and popular I would think).
Best,
Eric

Eric,
Totally agree. Puppy needs light and none-bloated apps with good functionality like this. OpenOffice weighs in about 3 times that of SMO and when an app is bigger than the distro itself something ain't right.
Let's hope a Linux version is in the pipeline.
Cheers
Dave

That's great news. Unfortunately I can't find where I can get a copy to look at/test on my linux distros. I've emailed SMO folk. Hope they will reply positively.
Cheers

Hi TucknDar,

Yes I see there is a 2010 beta...but where?
I'm new here so I'm still a bit lost as there are lots of posts to read.
Best,
Eric

Ah, sorry, it seems that the beta section is only available to beta testers, hence not really public  But I would guess that the SoftMaker staff would only be happy to have more testers, so I suppose mail or PM in the forum will give you what you want.

I've added caneri and davesurrey to the Betatester group. After a new login they should be able to see the Office 2010 for Linux Beta forum.

Hi,
Does anyone know if there are any plans to release a 64bit Linux version of Office 2010?

Steve
