Hello Planners:

I have a range of dates, such as the following:

16-Jul-10
30-Jul-10
13-Aug-10
27-Aug-10
10-Sep-10
24-Sep-10
08-Oct-10

Each date is two weeks later than the previous one. This is a common kind of series such as, pay days, for example.

The cells are formatted as date cells.

I have two questions, and perhaps the answer for one might provide the answer for both.

1> If I change the date of the first one (16-Jul-10) to one day earlier (15-Jul-10), is there a formula that I could apply to the following dates that would have them all go back one day?

2> If I were to enter the date of the first one as 11-Jul-10, is there a formula that i could use to create a range of dates, each one two weeks later than the previous one?

If there is a clever way to achieve either of these functions, it would save a lot of tedious data entry!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Peter

In (e.g.) A1, you set the start date.
In A2, you set: =A1+14
You get a day number.
Select A2 and format as date.
Drag the small grey square in the bottom right corner of A2 downward with the mouse for as many cells as you need.
That's it. If you change a date manually now, all following dates will automatically adjust.

Thank you very much, It works perfectly.

I had the range already formatted as dates. So all I had to do was drag the small grey square in the second cell over the range, and the dates changed as if by magic. :D

Excellent!
