I have a document on one computer and laid out the document perfectly using my standard tmv.
I copied the document to a second computer and loaded the document for printing.
The layout had changed in that the lines broke in a different place but the margins were the same. I assumed the template was embedded in the document but was not sure.

I copied the whole folder of templates to the second computer in case.
In fact it made no difference. I considered that it may be because I had uninstalled the printer from the first computer (perhaps it is required as it would be with Adobe Pagemaker).
I then shared the printer from the second computer to the first. No difference and it printed as it should.
The screen on the second computer is larger and higher resolution, but it should not affect it.
I was left thinking the fonts were somehow different but not so.
What has caused this problem, any thoughts?

Only a random guess -- maybe in TextMaker on the second computer "Automatic Hyphenation" was on/off?

Check File/Properties/View if printer-independent formatting is set.

Thank you for those two suggestions. Hyphenation is the same.
The properties are the same. On that issue surely the properties travel with the document?
I feel sure that the problem is document independent

Yes, File=>Properties contains the file related settings.

Thank you for the confirmation. I still cannot find a cause that is not carried with the document. I know that it isn't a bug but I am baffled.

This problem is solved, by accident.
I always use Styles and had one set for Bookman font which is well spaced for reading.
Having reinstalled the system that (additional) font was no longer installed.
It remained on the other computer.
I assume that the font was 'substituted' probably with Times Roman (tighter spacing.

The point here is that nothing told me that the font was not present and was substituted.
The toolbar showed the correct font. I found out by viewing the File Properties for some other reason and was told that the font was not on the system. But in effect only when I asked.

If the beta now in progress does not, can a feature be added that warns of missing fonts when they are (presumably loaded?) for use in a style?
It is unlikely to happen without Styles because one selects the font each use. This issue only occurs because the change in system (or a change in font ) bridged the making of the style some time ago and the current use of it.

I will refer your suggestion as a feature request to our developers.
