Hi. I may be missing something obvious, but I cannot edit a docx file opened in TextMaker 2010.

It has layers including a full page graphic as a background, and I cannot re-order or edit them. I have tried changing the order of the layers and that also does not work.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Does it mean that you cannot write into the document? Please make sure that you work in the proper mode. There is a object mode and a text mode. You can switch between them via View=>Object mode.
