Tips & Tricks for SoftMaker Mail
(Note: SoftMaker Mail is only included in some OEM versions of SoftMaker Office for Windows CE.)
How to access your Gmail (Google Mail) account in SoftMaker Mail
If you want to receive and send e-mails using your Gmail (Google Mail) account with SoftMaker Mail, proceed as follows:

1. |
In SoftMaker Mail, choose the command Tools > New Account. |

2. |
The "Setup Wizard" appears. It will help you set up SoftMaker Mail for accessing your Gmail account, step by step. (Click on the Next button after each step.) |

3. |
In the first step, enter your name and your e-mail address (at Gmail) – e.g. johnsmith@gmail.com. |

4. |
In the next step, enter the following: |
|
Incoming server: pop.gmail.com |
|
|
Outgoing server: smtp.gmail.com |
|
|
5. |
In the next step, enter the following: |
|
User name: your e-mail address at Gmail (e.g. johnsmith@gmail.com). |
|
|
Activate the option "Use outgoing authentification?". |
|
|
Below that option, enter your user name once again (e.g. johnsmith@gmail.com). |
|

6. |
In the next step, choose the following settings: |
|
Incoming security settings: Secure to dedicated port (SSL/TLS) |
|
|
Outgoing security settings: Secure to dedicated port (SSL/TLS) |
|

7. |
In the next step, enter any name for the new account (e.g. "Google Mail"). |
|
8. |
Finally, click on Finish to complete the setup procedure. |
From now on, you can access your Gmail messages in SoftMaker Mail. Use the File > Receive New Messages command to download your current messages.
