Tips & Tricks for Fonts
How do I install fonts from the "20 Handwriting Fonts" package?
Unpacking the fontsWhen you download the 20 Handwriting Fonts, you receive a ZIP archive file that contains the fonts. Double-click on this ZIP file, and your computer will show the two folders TrueType and OpenType. Unpack these two folders to your hard disk. The easiest way to do this is to grab both folders with the mouse and drag them to a new folder on your hard disk.
TrueType or OpenType? The fonts in this package are available both in TrueType and in OpenType PS format. All modern operating systems work with both formats only Windows 95, 98, ME, and NT 4.0 accept only TrueType fonts. In general, we recommend to use the OpenType PS versions of the fonts since they offer slightly superior rendering quality. The following installation instructions therefore refer to OpenType fonts, wherever possible:
Windows 95, 98, ME, NT 4.0
Windows 2000 and XP
Windows Vista and Windows 7
Linux, BSD, and UNIXUse the font installer included with your distribution to install the fonts from the OpenType folder.
Apple Mac OS X
Using the fontsAfter installing the fonts, you can use them in your applications like any other font. Just as you would select "Times New Roman" or "Arial" in your word processor or graphics software, you can now choose your new handwriting fonts simply by picking them from the font lists of your applications.
